Adina Levy Speech Pathology offers therapy for children with speech, literacy, language, fluency or other communication difficulties. Adina also works with children that have disabilities such as Autism and learning challenges. She offers home, school and preschool visits in the Eastern Suburbs and Inner West.
Therapy focuses on using activities and materials that the child is interested in, to help them engage in sessions. Parents are asked to attend all sessions to learn how to better assist their child's communication.
For convenience, sessions take place at your home or your child's school/childcare centre.
For children and adults for whom English is a second language (ESL) Adina helps to overcome language difficulties, and pronunciation.
While some children may understand English, they may be reluctant to speak or interact with others. Speech therapy strategies can help your child learn to use English more effectively and be understood better.
Some children may be eligible for 5 Medicare rebated sessions of Speech Pathology per year. Please ask your GP about this (the Chronic Disease Management Plan, previously called Enhanced Primary Care Plan). See Medicare website for more information.
Some Private Health funds also cover speech therapy, so please check with your provider.
