Playground: Open playground in the Royal Botanic Gardens, and visible when on the Choo Choo Express. Ponds and gardens in abundance for the kids of Sydney to enjoy.
Shade: On the Choo Choo Express - absolutely. In the gardens - many of the trees provide some decent shade.
Swimming: No. However, the Andrew Boy Charlton Pool is a short stroll away.
Tables: No
Toilets: Yes
Water: Water views yes. No water bottle refill facilities. Water bottles can be purchased at any one of the cafes on site.
Age Suitability: Suitable for kids of all ages.

Description:

The Choo Choo Express provides a laid back, relaxing tour experience of the Royal Botanic Gardens. Each tour goes for 25 minutes, with four stops along the way as follows:

Stop 1: Tropical Centre/Rose Gardens
Stop 2: Art Gallery of New South Wales area
Stop 3: Info centre surrounded by cafes and restaurants
Stop 4: Mrs Macquaries Chair

The train leaves the Queen Elizabeth II gate (right next to the Sydney Opera House) every 30 minutes - on the half hour and hour. Interesting facts of the gardens is covered, and many kids are keen to hop on and enjoy the ride.

The Choo Choo Express does not operate in wet weather. Ample seating is enjoyed. For those who don't want to, or who don't like walking - this is a great family friendly alternative in spending time at the Royal Botanic Gardens.
