Description:
Named in honour of Jimmy Bancks (who created the Ginger Meggs character in 1922), Ginger Meggs Park offers enough variety for the kids to make their own adventure.
The park features a large, open grassed area, a playground and picnic tables. It is located in a valley (adjacent to West Hornsby Wastewater Treatment Plant), and is surrounded by bushland.
A short walk down the fire trail next to the park leads to a creek where ducks can often be found. Pack a spare set of clothes for the kids in case they decide to splash in the water.
The playground includes a set of swings, two slides (including a double slide), monkey bars, and other climbing equipment.
The park is fenced on the road-side only. On its other sides a border is provided by the natural bushland setting.
Ample parking in available on Valley Road.
