If you and your children would love to go swimming with the whales, then take them along to see the extraordinary new documentary at the Imax Cinema in Darling Harbour - Humpback Whales 3D.
For 45 minutes kids will be sitting on the edge of their seats as they watch these majestic beasts of the deep, courtesy of the 3D experience. Along the way they will learn some fascinating facts such as humpback whales do not have teeth but still consume up to 4000 pounds of food in one day; and that the female humpback whale is larger than a male and she can measure as long as a school bus!
From the warm waters of the South Pacific and Hawaii to the freezing waters of Antarctica and the Arctic the documentary follows whales on their annual migration. The whales will entertain children both young and old with their singing and acrobatics as well as other antics as they discover that there is so much more to these amazing creatures than being one of the world's largest mammals.
Humpback Whales 3D is probably most suited to children over the age of 5 years. Even though the documentary only goes for 45 minutes the loud surround sound effects and the in your face movie (courtesy of the 3D effects) may cause some distress to young viewers.
Watching a movie in 3D is such a fantastic experience for children. The Humpback Whales documentary will not only entertain kids but will also open their minds to a world that we know very little about.
