The main kids play land. Water fun.
One of the most kid friendly aquatic centres around. It is great to see Homebush Bay being used for many different leisure and lifestyle pursuits, including the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre
. There is ample space to enjoy and to play.
In addition to their own kids play space, many of the kids that come here also like to use the normal pool to swim laps, while there are others learning how to swim, a valuable skill in itself. Surprisingly, there were some youngsters in a hot spa with their parents. The adults have a great time here too, however this is a place you need to put on the top of your list for cost effective things to do with your child/children in Sydney.
Great for families
The kids play area feels more like a mini adventure park, as opposed to being at a local swimming pool. Although purpose built for the Sydney Olympic Games over 13 years ago, as at the time of writing this, the future was also kept in mind.
A water park, with fun things to climb on while getting wet. For starters, the Splasher's Water Playground delights. Get water thrown onto you, no different to that feeling of being tossed inside the pool with a group of your friends at a pool party. Also there is a yellow water slide for the little ones. On the other side, the older kids and teenagers can use the green rapid river slide. The depth of the pool you land into is 1 metre deep here. Sea characters set the scene for a colourful day of play.
More kids paradise
In addition to this water park of fun right next to the sauna and spa area, there is a kid friendly diving pool next to the competition pool that our Olympians swam in when the Olympic Games were on in Sydney. Furthermore, on weekends, a giant jumping castle (think shows like Double Dare and It's a Knockout) occupies three of the eight lanes of the lap swimming leisure pool in the same area. Jump on, and when this castle gets wet, it will be slippery indeed, and your child/children will be thrown into the pool. That's part of the fun.
The spa is also a popular sanctuary for the kids of Sydney here
Lap availabilities are published as far in advance on the centre's website. Furthermore, keep an eye out on the centre's website for extra kid friendly activities at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre during the school holidays. Such activities include the Skywall and Urban Jungle.
