Scarborough Hotel, 383 Lawrence Hargrave Dr, Scarborough NSW 2515
plenty along the way. (National Park Information Centre is the first set)
An hour and 15 minutes, driving through the National Park (you will need to pay the $11 park fees). You can either stop for a picnic or drive straight to the look out, depending on how the kids travel. There is an ice cream van in the look out carpark, so good behaviour can be rewarded, or point out the beach below as the lunch destination.
Follow the sign posts down to Stanwell Park for a picnic (or takeaway fish and chips) with a play on the sand or swim. Then head towards the bridge. Park and walk along the pedestrian path for stunning views. Then drive over the bridge and stop at the Scarbourgh Hotel for a drink or dessert in the stunning beer garden.
Head home via Helensburgh and explore the railway tunnels (and easy accessible one off Vera St, near the power station) and visit the Sri Venkateswara Temple on Temple Rd, Helensburgh.
