For sure, there is never a dull moment at Sydney's Darling Harbour to begin with. There are a multitude of family friendly events on at Darling Harbour nearly all the time. Such events are publicly displayed at various vantage points through this coolest play space. Christmas is always a great time for the family to come out, eat an ice cream (or a few) and just play and enjoy the moment together.
Some animal love nearby. Taken from the Pyrmont Bridge.
First off, Darling Quarter has paved the way for a fantastic kids playground. The kids of Sydney today are spoilt. There is ample space for some parent supervision in the playground, as well as a kiosk for any unexpected hunger pains.
Outside the Maritime Museum
There is an abundance of swings, as well as water activities. A perfect excuse for a picnic in the grassed area - with the new addition of some cool wooden deck chairs. Ensure your kids have their swimmers on in hot weather. The climber within can unleash themselves on some rope, and there are sandpits to play in as well. The kids of Sydney can also have some fun using the water wells here too.
Kids rides inside Harbourside
Otherwise, there are some top destinations if you want to appreciate the animals - from the Sydney Aquarium to the Wild Life Sydney Zoo. Alternatively, not far away is the Maritime Museum. The museum puts on some educational, interactive and fun kids experiences for the school holidays in particular.
Furthermore, coin operated kids rides are available inside Harbourside. If you need to do a bit of clothes shopping for your little ones, there are some great shops here for this purpose. Who knows, that little ballerina could be unleashed. If your family fancies a bit to eat, there is always the main food court area. The latter can be quite noisy to eat inside. Otherwise it is beautiful to enjoy some take-away on the steps right outside - with views of the city skyline.
The water feature
Other activities in Darling Harbour for the kids to enjoy include street theatre shows, some of which are quite entertaining. Some kids are eagerly sitting at the front, and if one is lucky to help out with the 'show' - he/she might nab themselves a $5 note. The water feature right outside the Convention Centre is also a popular kid entertainment feature at Darling Harbour.
