Kids love Vera's Water Garden, even in cold weather.

You're only an hour north of Sydney, and resort paradise in the Central Coast is a break away from the city for Sydney residents, and yes that includes families. The Entrance is a fantastic playground for all, yet more so kid friendly. Your kids (regardless of the weather, they just don't feel the cold as adults do) will love Vera's Water Garden at The Entrance beach front area. Grab a coffee or chill out and relax. This area is right near ice cream, fish and chip paradise.

The play can be extended in Memorial Park, that blends in with Vera's Water Garden.

The garden is so colourful, joyous and alive. Your kids will have so much fun, and it advisable that they're wearing their swim clothes upon arrival, especially as change room facilities can be quite limited here. Right next door to Memorial Park, your child/children will be spoilt for choice on things to play on. Never an excuse to be bored. Even better, the park and the water garden are right near the water front. They can play alone or with others, it doesn't matter here.

The park side

Colourful stars and shapes reign, and they have water falls that are unique to themselves. The tiles are rather colourful. You would be forgiven for thinking that your child/children are playing in a pool at a dedicated aquatic centre, as opposed to the open outdoors. Best of all its free. There is ample space to supervise them, both at the playground at the park, and in the pool in the water garden area. Then again, the best things in life can be for free.

Parents and carers, be aware - it might be super hard asking your child/children or kids in your care to leave. Water is therapeutic for all of us, and play is natural here. Kids love improvisation, and this is the perfect space to make this happen. The Entrance is a superb holiday destination for those of us Sydney siders wanting a mini-break. Arriving at The Entrance will soon become easier, especially if the extended train line from Tuggerah gets constructed. Again the Vera Water Gardens, in conjunction with Memorial Park are fantastic playgrounds in this area.
