Description: Whale Beach is the beach in between Palm Beach and Avalon Beach in Sydney's Northern Beaches area. It has much the same facilities as the others, but is generally less crowded.
Huge pine trees line the back of the sand and provide great shade. There is also play equipment, including swings, and a picnic area. Rips and swells can be strong, and surfing is popular at the northern end, but Whale Beach Surf Life Saving Club patrols the water from September to April so safe swimming can be found between the flags.
There is also a 25 metre rockpool at the southern end as well as an amenities block nearby at the end of the car park. Behind the whole beach is a steep 100 metre slope.
