Darling Quarter Darling Park
The kids of Sydney graciously playing in the sand on a hot day
It is great to see
Darling Quarter and Darling Park restored into a land of play. Before Sega wanted to buy the land back, all things sports and 'play' disappeared to make way for Sega World, and now that Sega World has closed down, Darling Park has been developed into a kids play land paradise called Darling Quarter at Darling Harbour's Darling Park.
Love it
It's great. There are restaurants for the more mature taste buds, however there is a massive playground for the kids to play. Parents, you can easily keep your kids entertained here for hours in this purpose built playground. Apart from the merry go round, all other activities are free of charge. They can play in the sandpit with sand diggers, or enjoy traditional park playground activities with many other fun loving kids around them. Ignite the climbers within on some fun play equipment, especially on the octanet, and for something a little more closer to earth, the tangled web.
That massive slippery dippy...
The slippery dip, otherwise known as the 'big slide' is massive. Despite being three metres high and eight metres wide, this play toy is perfectly safe for a couple of children at a time to slide down and enjoy.
For the climbers and dare devils at heart, the balance ropes are for them. Your kids can challenge themselves among their friends, or with other playmates, and see how quickly they can complete the 18.7 metre long tightrope course. Definitely a Sydney play innovation, if not for the whole country. Worth its weight in gold.
quite advanced for a play land in the city
What about the flying fox? It would have been great to have enjoyed a 21 metre high playground treat as a child. Sydney kids: head up the ramp, and whizz away through the trees flying in the air. Perhaps for a little something more closer to the ground, the giant ring or the jumbo swings might be suited to your child's play.
some summer lovin for now
If your child loves getting wet, then the water squirts are amazing. Other water based play activities at this city park of fun include the water screws and the water pumps.
Want some time in the shade? No worries, there is a hip shady area to enjoy and play. Other quirky rides include the supanova, and some table tennis. Every kid who steps foot in Darling Harbour must play at this playground.
The table tennis play area is also a hit
