Description:
Macquarie Place is a small park in the built up area behind Circular Quay, in the tourist heart of Sydney.

It's not particularly child-oriented, but there's open space and lots of seating, so if you find yourself in the area with your kids it's a place to get away from the city.

The focus of the park is actually its historic items, and one of these will be of particular interest to children; the large anchor is from one of the ships of the First Fleet, the HMS Sirius.

Most kids should study the First Fleet at some point during their primary school years, so it will make the topic more real to them.

Another item is the large obelisk
