Camping isn't for everyone. We all know it can be hard work. Camping is though a family holiday. You know, camping is a fun way to connect with your children.

Here are my 5 reasons you MUST go to Ocean Beach Holiday Park Umina.

1. It's only a 1 hour drive north of Sydney. Straight down the F3 and head to Woy Woy then to Umina.

2. The park caters for everybody. Kids of all ages enjoy this camping wonderland.

3. Ocean Beach Umina is right on the beach. Bring your buckets and spades and build sandcastles. Go exploring for local sea creatures. In the night time, head to the beach, put your night lights on and search for sea critters hiding in the rocks and sand. Enjoy some fishing in spots nearby such as the pristine waters of Ettalong.



4. The pool. My kids love the pool. There is a slide for the young and the young at heart. It's a resort style pool. Albeit, it doesn't have a pool bar, however it has got a grassed shady area, sunlounges and baby pool. It also has a spa pool and a rockery pool with cascading showers.

5. Activities, wow the activities. Programs such as craft, tie dying, plaster painting, sports, mini olympics, morning tractor rides, treasure hunts. Hire the new Go Karts, alot of fun. The list goes on. There is even morning yoga for the parents, learn to surf and tai chi. Some fees do apply but otherwise there is alot for free. Carnival days, bingo, trivia and disco nights. My kids enjoyed watching the talent quest and the carnival night is a highlight featuring a fire twirler. The lady who does the hair extensions ($5) has been there twice and my girls had those things in their hair for months.
