Palm Beach and Playgrounds

Palm Beach is one of Sydney’s most well known beaches and is located on the eastern ocean side near Barrenjoey headland.

This family friendly beach is patrolled during summer and has a rockpool for those with younger children or who wish to swim laps.





Large grassy areas provide space for children to play ball games or they can challenge their skills at one of several playgrounds located in the area.





Free electric BBQs, tables and benches as well as showers and toilets are also situated nearby, making it the ideal spot for a great day out.

If you have kids who are not strong swimmers, consider taking them to Station Beach located on the Harbour side of the headland, which is sheltered so there are no waves. It is also a great spot for snorkelling and watching sea planes take off and land near the jetty.





Metred parking is available near the beach and some parking is also available in nearby streets. Alternatively, if you are travelling by public transport, the L90 and 190 terminate at Ocean Place.

You will find many trees in the reserve and on the foreshore which provide shade on a hot summer’s day. Several cafes and kiosks are located near the beach, so you can grab snacks, coffee, lunch or ice cream.
