Description:
Most of us take the Sydney Harbour Bridge for granted. We see it as we drive into Sydney CBD or catch the ferry out of Circular Quay, but the bridge has so much to offer families with kids of all ages.
If you've never walked across the bridge, why not plan it as a weekend or holiday adventure. You can park your car at one of the streets at Milsons Point and access the stairs to the bridge via Burton Street.
Children will enjoy the hustle and bustle of all that goes on around them. See the trains, cars and trucks crossing the bridge and the tiny boats making their way below. The view of the Opera House is stunning and if you are lucky you will also get to see one of the large cruise ships which often dock at Circular Quay.
Make sure you bring plenty of drinks and sunscreen, especially on a sunny day, as it can get quite hot on the bridge.
As you arrive at the other side of the bridge, visit the weekend markets at the Rocks or enjoy some treats at Pancakes on the Rocks.
A great incentive to go on this adventure is to take your kids to Sticky and watch hard candy be made. You will find more information about
Sticky Candy Store here.
After the Rocks, make your way down to Circular Quay where you can see lots of street performers and if you have enough energy, visit the Sydney Opera House or the Botanic Gardens.
The Sydney Harbour Bridge is a great starting point for many family adventures, so why not get together with some friends and play a tourist this weekend.
