The 4 Cheapest Easter Showbags for Kids in Sydney

The Sydney Royal Easter Show would not be the star attraction it is, if it wasn't for the showbags. In order to not blow too much cash on what can turn out to be a rather expensive day, it is important to sit down with your child/children and plan the showbag/s that he or she (or they) would like you to buy for them at the show. A good limit is generally two and no more than four showbags per child. Many of my adult friends today of similar age groups were only told they could have one showbag, two maximum for each year of the Easter show while growing up.

If your child wants any extra showbags, encourage them to do a bit of work around the house (if they don't do so already) for a bit of extra pocket money to save up for any additional showbags.



Although showbags were simply free samples in the good old days, they still represent good value today. The good news is that as a parent you do not need to break the bank on many of these cheap showbags.

Firstly, the Blinky Bill showbag has continued to be the cheapest showbag at the show for a long, long time. At only $1 a pop, five traditional freddo frog size chocolate bars are available. It's a treat because it is rather difficult to buy a Blinky Bill chocolate bar at your local supermarket or convenience store.



The classic blue Bertie Beetle showbag still represents great value for $2 a pop. This showbag contains around four Bertie Beetle chocolate bars (similar to the size of a Freddo Frog again) with a few classic lollies such as Redskin bars.



The list is not all chocolate, therefore parents you can relax. KidTown Sydney is not encouraging unhealthy eating, far from it. For the girls, the Trollz showbag at $3 a represents great value with a troll pencil, diary/journal, a tinsel wig and some other novelty toy, while for the boys the transformers showbag for $5 a pop can be purchased at the same stand where the Trollz showbag can be purchased from in the showbag pavilion.



The other showbags that would follow include the cheapest version of the Freddo showbag, where for only $4 a pop kids receive two Freddo pens and 10 Freddo frogs. For white chocolate, the Milky Bar showbag represents good value. There are deals where four showbags can be purchased for $10, keeping the day affordable.
