Victoria Park

is right across the road from the Broadway Shopping Centre. The latter is a place where many families spend their time grocery shopping or otherwise. After such shopping experiences, is a fantastic hang out destination with the likes of Sydney University students, and other students nearby who also like to chill out here. You are a stones throw away from Glebe, Chippendale, Darlington and Ultimo here as well.

The fun begins by taking in the expansive greenery, despite the hustle and bustle of two busy, connecting main roads nearby, not to mention a busy university and hospital.



Parents, as equally as you, your kids will love bumping into the swans in the lake the moment you all step away from Broadway and City Road. It is soothing, and there is still more fun to come. There is a mainstay aquatic centre and bike track nearby. With the fancy bridge, it feels like the Chinese Gardens has met Sydney Park for a moment. A great place where your child/children will also feel comfortable riding their bike here.



Along the way, some chalk marks symbolise a school playground without thinking of school at all. Some stars, pretty faces and a rainbow are currently etched in a section of the black concerete walkway until the next rain pour washes these out. Also if your child/children love hopscotch, someone has kindly thought of them and has drawn up a hopscotch play area in yellow. Pretty creative, cool and clever.



Head on down towards Newtown way, or if you are entering the park from City Road near the hospital, then the main playground with ample green running and picnic space awaits. The main road nearby is definitely not a bother at all. Traditional swings in tandem with a circular climbing galaxy style circle are the dominant play features of many Sydney playgrounds, and yes this is also enjoyed here.

Remember to buy a basketball if the family does not have one already. It will be the best investment you will ever make if the family chooses to come here. Why? There is a dedicated basketball space at this park where your child/children can shoot some hoops on a mini clay court.



A city oasis in the middle of a busy area with plenty to do.
